Want to make a big impact then make big art. Want to make a bigger impact then how about painting a 4 by 5 foot canvas on location in front of a crowd? Not big enough, then try an 8 by 10 foot canvas while wearing a tuxedo in front of an audience? This is just another typical gig for a guy like Dan the Art Man.
Road trip!
Bob grabs the video camera, hops in the DBS Minivan and heads down to Raleigh North Carolina for an interview with plein air performance painter Dan “The Art Man” Nelson. Dan talks about making the move from more traditional style illustration to working with large canvas in front of an audience. How did he get started, what is performance painting and why are people so interested in the creation process of this kind of art. Join us for that and more on this weeks video episode of Drawn by Success.

Hey Carlos,
Dan appears to be one of the consumate, artistic showmen of the, Dean Dint school of public artistic display. I have long since thought of such activities but never had the courage to actually carry out large shows. Other than many festivals and Detroit Greek Town stomping ground, bragging rights. Dan Nelsons courage and fortitude in reinventing his thing is an inspiration. I’ll see you all in the movies, Blessing Toodevastate, (Durk Barton).
